By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Throughout the Word of God, we are given examples of people praising God. Shouting, dancing, singing, agreeing, playing instruments, and even a couple of places that speak of a more quiet, subtle offering of praise like when Paul reminds us to make melodies in our heart in his letter to the Ephesians. We have so much to be thankful for as Jesus reminds us in his sermon on the mount that he blesses people that are found in some not so favorable life situations. Also, we are reminded to give thanks in all things.
God has a special fondness for songs and music. It's spoken of in many revelations of God’s dwelling place. Elders, angels, and martyrs that have died for Jesus’ namesake, all worship God with their mouths and sing songs to Him. It’s no wonder that all over the world, music is a central part of many cultures.
Our praise team here at ChristWay Church Huntsville sees our role in the ministry of the Body of Christ as threefold: spending time for ourselves in praise and worship to our Father, being an example to the body in our praise and worship, and teaching the Body of Christ to praise and worship. As we represent the diversity of Christ’s church, our music also strives to do the same, with many genres and flavors. God builds His local assemblies as He sees fit, and it’s our job to use what He gives us to His glory.
So you won’t find a cookie-cutter praise and worship team here; just a group of believers who strive to lift up the name of Jesus before all men, offering up our sacrifice of praise with authority and joy, giving Him our very best. Glory to His Name!
