Pastor's Passage

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
  hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
  your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

How We Should Pray

Pastor Blogs & Thoughts

When Jesus gave to us what we call "The Lord's Prayer", he gave us an outline on how to pray. The first part of this great prayer begins with God (Matthew 6:9-10). These verses identify God with the personal pronoun "Your." Then, the second part of the prayer is about our petitions (Matthew 6:11-13). The personal pronouns "us" and "our" reveal that these verses are about our petitions and our needs. Finally, the outline concludes with a doxology where Jesus says for us to give our Heavenly Father the glory that He deserves. Come worship with us at ChristWay Church and be part of this series on "How We Should Pray".
